Tami Barlage, NP
Nurse Practitioner
Tamara (Tami) Barlage joined the DCND team in 2022. She graduated from the University of Cincinnati in 2020 with a Family Nurse Practitioner degree . Since graduating, she has expanded her knowledge base in both the geriatric population and assessing patient care needs. Before going back to school to become an FNP, she worked for 10 years as an RN specializing in oncology. She feels the extensive knowledge base and drive for continual education will strengthen her success as a NP specializing in neurology.
Tami has always had a desire to care for others and further her knowledge base. In 2004 she graduated from Wright State University with a degree in Rehabilitation Services. In 2008, she returned to school to study nursing and graduated in 2010 with a BSN degree. In 2019, she went back to school to pursue a degree in FNP, and graduated from the University of Cincinnati in August 2020 with the honor of joining the Sigma Theta Tua International Honor Society. Tami was able to achieve all this while raising two children and working.
In her free time she loves reading, traveling and spending time with family. She is an active member of her local church and enjoys participating in charity runs. Tami has two strong and intelligent daughters and has been married to her husband for almost 20 years. She is excited to join the DCND family.

What is an Advanced Practice Provider?
An advanced practice provider is an important part of your care team at Dayton Center for Neurological Disorders. These providers work closely with your neurologist to ensure you get consistent and timely care. Patients will always initially see one of our neurologists. Once you have your diagnosis, your neurologist will recommend your follow up appointment be with either their physician assistant (PA) or nurse practitioner (NP). They will help manage your care, symptoms, and work with you to achieve that better quality of life.
These providers are all nationally certified, state licensed and specifically trained to care for and manage neurologic conditions. By seeing an advanced practice provider, you get your medical questions addressed quicker. These providers are fully capable of prescribing medications, answering medical questions, conducting exams, and performing several different procedures.
