Merissa Johnson, DO
Neurologist
Dr. Merissa Johnson joined DCND in 2023. She graduated from Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2015 and completed her residency in Dayton through Grandview Hospital (Kettering Health Dayton). Dr. Johnson had a desire to pursue medicine from a young age watching her mother work in a neurosurgery office doing coding. Under the guidance of one of the doctors there, she learned that medicine was a career that would allow her to make a real difference in the lives of others.
She chose neurology because she loves a good puzzle and says the nervous system will never stop being interesting because it’s so complex. She believes knowledge is power and will always strive to keep her patients informed so they can make the best health decisions together.
“The best part of my job is doing my best to explain things to my patients in a way that makes sense to them. Sometimes you are the only one who has ever taken the time to explain what’s happening to someone,” said Dr. Johnson.
Dr. Johnson is married and has one son. In her free time she enjoys spending time with family, swim, workout and cook!
