Bio


Kenneth Pugar, DO, MBA, dFACN, is a board-certified neurologist at the Dayton Center for Neurological Disorders (DCND), which helps staff locations in Centerville, Beavercreek, Springfield, Eaton, Wilmington, Hillsboro, and Vandalia, Ohio. Dr. Pugar is the founder and president of DCND and works at the Centerville and Beavercreek offices. Over the years, he’s established DCND as one of the premier neurology practices in the state. 

Dr. Pugar studied at Gannon University in Erie, Pennsylvania, earning his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. After graduation, he enrolled at the University of Pittsburgh, also in Pennsylvania, and obtained a Master of Business Administration. Then, Dr. Pugar enrolled at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Pennsylvania, graduating with his Doctor of Osteopathy.

Dr. Pugar also completed residency training at Botsford Hospital in Farmington Hills, Michigan. 

Dr. Pugar diagnoses and treats various neurological disorders, but he has a special interest in Alzheimer’s disease/dementia, Parkinson’s disease, and Multiple Sclerosis. Dr. Pugar always puts patients first. He never rushes appointments and has a compassionate bedside manner, allowing him to build strong and trusting relationships with patients. 

Dr. Pugar regularly participates in continuing education to keep his skills sharp. He stays abreast of neurology advances and works as a principal investigator for research trials focused on neurodegenerative disorders.

He also enjoys sharing his knowledge with others. He’s a teacher and mentor in the residency program at Kettering Health Dayton in Ohio (formerly Grandview Medical Center).

Dr. Pugar is a distinguished fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Neurologists and Psychiatrists. He’s also a member of the American Academy of Neurology and the American Osteopathic Association. Dr. Pugar is board-certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Neurology and Psychiatry.

Outside the office, he enjoys spending time with family and friends. Dr. Pugar is married and has five children and 10 grandchildren. He enjoys traveling, playing golf, and skiing in his free time.
