James Beegan, MD, is a double-board-certified physiatrist and electrodiagnostic medicine specialist at the Dayton Center for Neurological Disorders (DCND), providing high-quality neurology care to adults at the Centerville office. Other DCND-staffed office locations include Beavercreek, Springfield, Eaton, Wilmington, Hillsboro, and Vandalia, Ohio.
Dr. Beegan began his education at Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky, earning his Bachelor of Science in English and biological services. Then, he enrolled at the Ohio State University College of Medicine in Columbus, obtaining his Doctor of Medicine.
Dr. Beegan completed an internal medicine internship at Mt. Carmel Health System (formerly Mt. Carmel Medical Center) in Columbus, Ohio, and a residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at the Ohio State University Hospitals, also in Columbus. Dr. Beegan excelled in these programs, earning the title of chief resident.
Dr. Beegan diagnoses and treats various neurological disorders, but he has a special interest in spasticity management and electromyography (EMG).
Dr. Beegan has decades of experience in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the American Association of Electrodiagnostic Medicine.
Dr. Beegan’s dedication and hard work haven’t gone unnoticed. He received the Grandview Change of Heart Award in 2006 and the High Achieving Team Award for the Neuro-Rehab and Balance Center from the Kettering Health Network in 2010.
Outside of work, Dr. Beegan enjoys spending time with his wife and three adult children.
