Merissa Johnson, DO, is a skilled and compassionate neurologist serving patients at Dayton Center for Neurological Disorders (DCND), which staffs convenient locations in Centerville, Beavercreek, Springfield, Eaton, Wilmington, Hillsboro, and Vandalia, Ohio.
Dr. Johnson earned her Doctorate in Osteopathic Medicine from the Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine in Dothan and recently completed her neurology residency at Kettering Health Dayton (formerly called Grandview Medical Center) in Ohio. She is the newest addition to the DCND team, joining the practice in 2023.
With a passion for neurologic diagnosis and treatment, Dr. Johnson had a desire to pursue medicine from a young age. She watched her mother work in a neurosurgery office doing coding. Under the guidance of one of the doctors there, she learned that medicine was a career that would allow her to make a real difference in the lives of others.
Dr. Johnson chose neurology because she loves a good puzzle and enjoys the nervous system’s complexity. She believes knowledge is power and will always strive to keep her patients informed so they can make the best health decisions together.
Dr. Johnson has a range of experience treating patients with Parkinson’s disease, memory disorders, headaches, and other neurological disorders.
Fostering a collaborative relationship with patients is an important part of Dr. Johnson’s role at DCND. She strives to help each patient understand their diagnosis and works with them to develop the appropriate treatment. Dr. Johnson’s commitment to patient care and well-being shines through in every aspect of her work.
In her free time, Dr. Johnson enjoys spending time with her husband and son swimming, working out, and cooking. She is thrilled to welcome new patients to DCND and looks forward to partnering with them on their health care journey.
“The minute I entered the door at DCND, I felt welcomed and comforted. My care team has always been top notch. They listen and work with me to manage my condition!”
